CR
Magnetics, Inc. has developed the new CR9321
series of Current Switches for applications that
require an on/off indication of current flow.
Current Switches are specifically designed for low
cost, high volume OEM uses of monitoring motor overloads
and heater elements.
The CR9321 Current Switches are fully isolated to
protect delicate monitoring equipment. It is also
self-powered requiring no external power supply.
The low turn-on point of .350 Amp AC allows the
monitoring of very small electrical loads. Current
levels above this point will turn the internal NPN
or PNP transistor or the solid state AC triac to
a full-on status.
An electrical current
carrying wire is routed through the window opening
of the current switch requiring no splices or electrical
connections. Positioning is accomplished by use
of a plastic tie or looping the wire through the
center of the switch.
The standard CR9321
Current Switches operates in 50 or 60 Hz systems
and is a self powered, non-intrusive device housed
in non-corrosive thermoplastic. Overall dimensions
are 1.50" x 1.00" x 0.75". The new
Current Switches will accept up to one size #8 AWG
wire through its center opening of .270 inch dia.
Two standard #22 AWG wire leads of 12 inches in
length are supplied for connection to instrumentation.
